Rob Friedman

Ner Tamid (personal mission statement):

U’vcharta b’chayim – Choose Life (Deut. 30:19)

Rabbi Rob Friedman is a Reform Rabbi who first discovered Mussar in 2017 while studying at HUC-JIR. He first connected with CCM in 2024 when given the opportunity to study with CCM’s leaders as part of the Rabbi cohort and in training to be a madrich. A former Navy Chaplain and now freelance Rabbi, Rabbi Rob has seen in many settings just how impactful the internal work of Mussar practice can be in allowing oneself to better engage with the world around them. Mussar now serves as one of the two central pillars on which Rabbi Rob serves everyone he meets. He currently lives in San Diego with his wife and dog.
