Geoff Basik is now retired from the role of founding rabbi of the Kol HaLev Synagogue Community in Baltimore. Husband, father and grandfather, cook and baker, baseball fan, dog walker, Tai Chi player, facilitator of Grateful Gatherings…a full and rich life!
In aspiring to see everyone as “family,” the current Ner Tamid comes from the Song of Songs: kol dodi dofek, "the voice of my Beloved is knocking.” The full verse is Ani yeshayna v’libi ‘eyr, kol dodi dokek, pitchi li, “I was asleep but my heart awoke, my beloved knocks, open to me!”
