Debra Rappaport
Ner Tamid (personal mission statement):
Modah ani l'fanecha | Thankful am I in your presence.
Rabbi Debra Rappaport has been practicing different forms of Mussar, as a participant and as a facilitator, since 2010. She has been moved by the protocols and depth of learning with CCM. Her current ner tamid, modah ani l'fanecha, invokes the morning prayer, beginning each day with gratitude for life. As a meditation, these words invite gratitude for the presence of God within the person before her.
Debra enjoyed 16 years as a congregational rabbi, first as a student in Duxbury MA, then at B’nai Vail Congregation (Vail, CO), followed by Shir Tikvah in Minneapolis. Most recently, Debra was Director of Hineni Adult Jewish Learning & Contemplative Practices, where she taught and curated large and small learning programs within the greater Twin Cities.
Debra currently offers rabbinic services on a project-basis, including teaching classes within congregations, predominantly in the Twin Cities. She serves on the boards of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association and the Jewish Community Relations Council of MN and the Dakotas.
Debra lives with her beloved in Minneapolis, near extended family, and gets out skiing (any kind,) hiking or biking whenever she can.
